Where do familiar reactions begin?
Some experiences leave conclusions about the self, other people, and what to expect. Over time those conclusions can become familiar assumptions that influence attention, feelings, and decisions.
SelfGrowthTarot explores these possibilities through reflective inquiry. A pattern is something to investigate carefully, rather than a label to place on yourself.
A framework for examining an experience
- Social expectation: What did you believe was expected of you?
- Belief: What conclusion about yourself or the situation became important?
- Emotional response: What did you feel?
- Protective decision: What did you decide to do, avoid, explain, or prevent?
- Consequences: What happened after that decision?
Two questions worth exploring
What experience are you trying to prevent from happening again? What feeling are you trying to avoid experiencing? These questions may reveal why familiar decisions seem compelling.
Working with what you discover
Self-compassion, new experiences, and thoughtful action can support a different response. Difficult feelings deserve care; emotional exploration can be gradual and supported.
